by A Alicia I really really LOVE this hand sewn felt broach at A Alicia's etsy shop. I would probably wear it every day until people started referring to me as the girl with the bow broach!
So excited to find your blog! I grew up knowing the word ugly as a synonym for "badly behaved" or "rude." You can imagine my surprise when I moved to NYC and learned quickly that people here understand the word completely differently.
"There's no excuse for being ugly" Growing up in the South, I often heard these words, around here "ugly" means acting bratty or being unkind. As I grew older (and hopefully better behaved!) I adapted it as a catchphrase for searching for all things lovely, rather than mass produced. The world is full of beauty, there is no excuse for ugly!
I am a graphic designer, artist, collector, dreamer. I love interesting things and interesting people. When I was 6 my grandmother gave me a pink sparkly toothbrush. I thought it was the most beautiful thing ever. I still love pink. And sparkles.
