I loooove Audrey Hepburn, her style, grace, charm and legacy. This book is a beautiful credit to a beautiful woman. It's stuffed with replicas of memorabillia from her life...notes snapshots etc... It is altogether lovely.
I love love love swirly glyphs and ornamentals... Domino did this as an hommage to Marie Antoinette (a BEAUTIFUL film... it's just amazing, I dream of it)... I did my own nod to the film in the invitations I made to a friends birthday party back in October and then revamped for place cards for another friend's wedding. Ill post them later when I convert the file.
I found this painting on etsy... I LOVE it... the style is such a cool update of the fadeaway girls of early magazine covers... plus it reminds me of my boyfriend who spends every waking hour to valiantly battle the various challenges of the world of finance in NYC, and looks darn good in a suit.
This gown (for it is a gown) is from Oscar de la Renta's Spring 07 collection and fills me with lust... If I were planning a wedding this would be it... I would have it altered to have an open back (I dont know what the real one looks like) but... I mean, seriously, to me, this is perfection.
I hope this is my first posting, and by that I mean I hope that it is followed by more somewhat regular postings... I may or may not have a bad track record of blog abandonment. Anyway, I hope to use this as a place to keep track of all the beautiful things there are in this world, especially the ones I can't afford as a recent college grad/graphic designer/interior designer/artist... that's basically everything... and things I find inspiring or that just make me happy to look at them.
Also, as a disclaimer, anything posted should be taken as the sincerest form of flattery (21st century style) but if not, let me know.
"There's no excuse for being ugly" Growing up in the South, I often heard these words, around here "ugly" means acting bratty or being unkind. As I grew older (and hopefully better behaved!) I adapted it as a catchphrase for searching for all things lovely, rather than mass produced. The world is full of beauty, there is no excuse for ugly!
I am a graphic designer, artist, collector, dreamer. I love interesting things and interesting people. When I was 6 my grandmother gave me a pink sparkly toothbrush. I thought it was the most beautiful thing ever. I still love pink. And sparkles.
