I have been a very bad blogger lately, which is sad, because I love blogging and getting sweet messages from strangers who like the same things as me, and I love cataloging the beautiful things I see. Now that I am all moved in to my new home FOR GOOD (Seriously) I finally have space for creating and maybe a little time too. BUT I will attempt to mitigate my shame by posting lots of lovely things now.

It is kind of vicariously exciting to have friends who become famous in glam circles, and a little weird and disorienting too. It's also a good reality check that going after your dreams and working REALLY hard is not such a crazy idea after all.

long weekend

I'm off to the beach for the long weekend. Looking forward to antiquing with my mom, cuddling with my pups, and the added luxury of having my 3 best friends there too!

My favorite splurge-y drink. I almost never drink soda, but when I do it's probably because I can't resist this stuff! It's yummy and made from natural ingredients, yay! My favorite flavors are Lingonberry and Pear. Find it at Whole Foods.

milestones

Today is my birthday. Usually I hate birthdays, they fill me with dread and that panicky oh no I overslept type of feeling, but not this year. This year I am choosing to be grateful. I'm 25 and I can finally say that I like who I am and I think that is a big deal. I have the most lovely amazing friends and family, and more blessings than I can count. My life may not be what I had imagined it would be at this point, but when is it ever! It's hard not to expect things to be perfect, but there is something very satisfying in imperfection.

I found these Gourmet magazines from the 40s while digging through a box of sports memorabilia while thrifting this weekend. The best part? They were only 50 cents! I think they would be darling framed in a kitchen, but for now I am enjoying reading the charming letters to the editor.

how i spent my weekend

This weekend was way too short. I went home to see my family and the days went by in a blur of activity. However, I did have time to go to my favorite antique shop in Wilmington. I bought a 1930s rouge pot in "Glorifying Red" a silk scarf and a 1900s hat buckle that I plan to turn into a belt. I never even made it to the beach, but that is probably just as well given the holiday weekend crowds.
